CAR ELEVATORS
Up to five tonnes, moved cleanly between floors — cycle after cycle, year after year. Built by Span for the load first.
Moving a vehicle is not the same as moving people — it asks for more steel, more drive, more margin. Span car elevators are built for exactly that: up to five tonnes, cycle after cycle, for years, with the structure, clearance, and safety systems the load demands. For multi-level car parks, showrooms, and service workshops that run on the machine holding up.
THE ENGINEERING
A passenger lift carries people. A car elevator carries a tonne of steel with a driver still inside it — and that changes everything beneath the platform. Span specifies heavy-gauge structural framing, a drive rated well beyond the working load, and guide rails and safety gear sized for the full mass in motion. The rated capacity is the floor of what the machine will take, not the ceiling.
Platform and frame engineered for repeated full-load cycles, not occasional peaks.
Specified with margin above working weight, so the machine never runs at its limit.
Overload sensing, safety gear, and interlocks rated for the vehicle's mass — not a passenger car's.
THE DUTY CYCLE
A showroom lift may run two hundred times a day; a car-park lift, more. What matters is not how much it lifts once, but how many times it lifts before anything wears. Span builds for the cycle — hardened wear surfaces, serviceable components, and a maintenance regime that holds the machine to its original tolerances for its full life. Twenty-five years, zero safety incidents — under loads most lifts never see.
APPLICATIONS
Vertical vehicle movement where every level has to carry traffic.
Display vehicles moved between floors, cleanly and on show.
Heavy, repeated daily cycles with vehicles and equipment.
Vehicle access where the structure won't allow a conventional approach.
